Gooty Saphire Tarantula
The Gooty Sapphire tarantula (Poecilotheria metallica) also known as the Peacock tarantula is a species native to central southern India and is listed as critically endangered.
This species is well known for its distinct, vibrant coloration and intricate patterns. Categorized as an Old World species, they are not suitable for beginners due to their impressive speed and dangerous bite.
This is an arboreal tarantula and does well having large pieces of cork tube to climb and hide in. Average temperature should be range from 65-76 fahrenheit with humidity between 75-85% and be housed in well ventilated enclosures. Adults typically reach 6-8" diagonal legspan full grown.
