The Socotra Blue Baboon Tarantula (Monocentropus balfouri) is a species found in Socotra Island in Yemen. Sought after for it's vibrant blue coloring as an adult, it is categorized as an Old World species and is not suitable for beginners due to their impressive speed, aggressive nature and dangerous bite.

They are opportunistic burrowers meaning they prefer to burrow but will also web up their enclosure and climb. This is a communal species, so multiple can be kept together in a large enough enclosure as long as enough food is provided.

Average temperature should range from 76-82 Fahrenheit with humidity between 60-70%. Females tend to be larger than males reaching 5-6" diagonal leg span
